Juliana Martinez has created a magical storybook backdrop for the children’s play area of this affordable housing development for families.
Juliana Martinez feels blessed to be able to make art for a living. She has been commissioned by the City of Los Angeles to decorate areas of the city, to beautify Sunset Boulevard with two sculptures, and has several commendations from state officials, including but not limited to Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villarigosa.
Juliana was the only artist of the original 26 asked to make a second Gibson Les Paul to adorn the world famous Sunset Strip.
Using her signature handmade tiles and ornate style, Juliana has crafted a gorgeous dedication entitled “There’s Something Happening Here”. The placard reads:
Inspired by the music and spirit of Buffalo Springfield. The guitar utilizes symbols that resonate with the band.
Juliana Martinez was commissioned by the City of Los Angeles to be one of 26 artists to decorate a ten-foot fiberglass Gibson Les Paul sculpture to commemorate the Beautification of West Hollywood in 2010.

Phase two of Yale Terrace is a ceramic floral Mural in the courtyard. It features three panels ranging from 5 feet in length to 7 feet in length representing peonies, poppies, and chrysanthemums.

Yale Terrace is a project that I was contracted to do for the City of Los Angeles. It is a very large low-income housing project in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles. I was hired to do the entryway, stairs, staircase walls and columns of this project.
The Hart Village Mural is located in a low-income housing project. This project was very special because the children of the project helped me in making the tiles. Our Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa came on February 25, 2008 and dedicated the mural and spent time talking to the children and letting them take photographs.
